Essential I

Integrate nursing science with knowledge from ethics, the biophysical, psychosocial, analytical, and organizational sciences as the basis for the highest level of nursing practice.
Use science-based theories and concepts to:
- determine the nature and significance of health and health care delivery . phenomena;
- describe the actions and advanced strategies to enhance, alleviate, and ameliorate health and health care delivery phenomena as appropriate; and
- evlauate otucomes.
Develop and evaluate new practice approaches based on nursing theories and theories from other disciplines.

Exemplar One

I have chosen to use this exemplar because it demonstrates how I used science-based concepts to analyze the medical diagnosis of critically-ill patient and described the treatments and strategies used to manage their care and outcomes.

Exemplar Two

I have chosen to use this exemplar because it demonstrates how I participated in an immersion course to develop my ability to integrate various themes and concepts from various disciplines with nursing science and develop new practice approaches based on the best available evidence.
